The Orbus XT4000 elliptical cross trainer is a cross-over between the standard home use units and the bigger, gym spec machines. Visually and physically it is very impressive and has a nice bright classy Touch Screen display. Obviously it is mains powered and incorporates the program features you should expect from this quality of machine. It has 12 programs in total, which provide more than ample options for the regular user.

The XT4000 offers a smooth ride and the heavy flywheel (10kg) and the weight of materials used, gives this a real feel of stability, with a maximum weight limit stated around 150kg.

For size and functionality this product ticks all the boxes and will compete well with the £500+ level of product available today from some manufacturers.

Our Verdict

A great machine for all levels of expertise. If you want ‘a little more’, this unit has it!

Fuel Fitness has developed an outstanding range of front drive elliptical trainers that are now available in the UK. This is the sister range to the full commercial Spirit Elliptical family, and are designed for the very top of the home use market.

The Folding FE46F Elliptical cross trainer is an impressive machine at first sight, but it’s the detail and the build quality that really catches your eye on closer inspection.

As with all Fuel Cross Trainers, the Fuel FE46F is a front driven unit, allowing your feet to remain closer together in a more natural stance. Added to this, the Articulating footplates rotate slightly with the elliptical motion, complimenting your body’s natural movement. This gives a very natural rotation of the leg and foot movement

The stride on this model is a much better than average, true commercial 20” and the balanced weight of the flywheel is a superb 11.5kg, giving a total inertia weight of25kg. It has a great multi program computer which gives excellent feedback in a typically clear and easy to read format, which is common place in the Fuel Fitness Cross Trainer range. The range of resistance levels is adequate to satisfy the most enthusiastic fitness enthusiast.

Finally, and amazingly in this high end category, this product folds to reduce space taken when not in use. Perfect!

Our Verdict

As with all the Fuel Ellipticals, it is very hard to find fault with this model. The price is not in the “budget” category, but you are buying a high class unit here; and the warranty (Lifetime frame & resistance, 5 Year parts and 2 Year at home call out) pays testament to the quality.
